I will lie down in my High God’s presence, spend the night in Shaddai’s shadow and declare this,
“God, You’re my refuge. I trust in You and I am safe! I know You will rescue me from hidden traps, shielding me from deadly hazards. God, Your huge outstretched arms protect me – under them I am perfectly safe, Your arms fend off all harm. I will fear nothing – not wild wolves in the night, not flying arrows in the day, not disease that prowls through the darkness, not disaster that erupts at high noon. Even though others succumb all around, drop like flies right and left, no harm will even gaze me. I will stand untouched, watch it all from a distance, watch the wicked turn into corpses. Yes, because You, God are my refuge – You are my safe house- with You guarding me, evil can’t get close to me, harm can’t get through the door. God, You ordered Your Angels to guard me wherever I go. If I stumble, Your Angels will catch me. I know their job is to keep me from falling. I will walk unharmed among lions and snakes and kick young lions and serpents from the path. Father, You have said, and I believe that if I hold onto You for dear life, You’ll get me out of any trouble. From You I will receive the best of care if I will trust You and keep a strong relationship with You. I am calling on You right now, God. I know You hear me. I know you are with me. In bad times You are my rescuer and You rejoice with me. In You, Lord, I’ll have a long life and salvation.”
